More Patterns and Prints: Accidental Marimekko Edition

Browsing the Marimekko store in St Christopher's Place I usually manage to restrict myself to buying new napkins (small and useful and cheap and therefore totally justifiable guv.) But on my latest trip I saw for the first time the mythical: a remnants bin and half price fabric selection and I just couldn't bring myself not to take advantage. I'm not sure what I'm going to use it all for (hoarding? is that a 'use'?) but there will likely be some more patterned trousers for kiddo.

This Metropoli print designed by Paavo Halonen and Hanna-Kaisa Korolainen was half price - atypical for Marimekko I think? It's black, it's white, it makes my eyes a bit funny from a distance. I like it.

There were a couple of metres remainder of classic kivet, oversized white spots on a black background.  I think it might make nice blinds for the baby room (backed with some blackout fabric).

 A Lumimarja remnant, in the grey-blue colourway - it always feels sort of Christmassy to me.

But the best of all wasn't even on sale. OOPS.

I won't lie: I just decided I really really wanted the new(ish) design, "Raanu" by Sanna Annukka - the most awesome colours in a striped and zigzagged and fishscaled folkloric pattern. Seriously, I just like looking at it.

PA suggests I should learn to sew something other than my standard cushion covers and/or baby trousers, but I don't know.  Maybe some Christmas decorations?

(I'm so tempted to make myself matching trousers from the metropoli and the raanu, but am committed to my attempt at giving the impression of maturity)
