Walnuts, Destruction

Thank you! for each of the comments and support in respect of the quitting and un-lawyering...I was sort of oddly scared to put it up on here (as, ridiculously, putting it on the internet makes it 'realer' somehow). I'm still working my head around such an open future but I think it feels right to go with my gut.

in the meantime! a tiny boat DIY with predictable denouement.

When we were little, Farmor used the walnut shells from the tree in their garden to make little sailing boats for us, complete with toothpick mast and paper sails.

Since, as part of our December quest to eat all of the Christmas snack foods, we went a bit nut crazy and are still working our way through them, I thought it would be a nice idea to try the same thing for G (really, obviously, for me). It was a sweet five minutes while it lasted though.

Step (1) eat some nuts.

Step (2) Make tiny boats out of the halfshells using paper triangles (with or without child scribbles) for sails, with toothpick masts stuck through them.  Use a few drops of wax in the bottom of the shell to 'glue' the mast upright.

Step (3) set sail your flotilla in a tray filled with an inch or two of water.

Step (4) look upon his works ye mighty and despair, try to stop him sitting in the water, FEEL AWESOME.
