Mister G and the pygmy seahorse
"A portrait of Mister G, once a week, every week, in 2013"

Recreating the aquarium at home watching David Attenborough on the projector, Mister G communes with a pygmy seahorse, camouflaged in coral, as PA looks on.  I just love his stance in this, shoulders back, little chest puffed out.

This week G has mainly been going crazy for the muppets singing mahna-mahna - we're slowly introducing the idea of the potty and sitting him on it after dinner, it's only a rendition of mahna-mahna that keeps him entertained. He's so happy, so often that it's infectious - picking him up from the cot after a nap? so happy to see you! going out to the park? so happy to go! A nectarine? Are you kidding me, lady?!  (except when, seconds later, he's so unhappy - when he can't take all the food out of the freezer, or climb on the desk, or poke his finger in your eye, when that's all he ever wanted to do!) I find the immediacy of kids sort of fascinating.

He's really starting to show understanding of words, you know? Pointing at his nose, ears, feet, crows and dogs when you ask him. He's getting to grips with sticking the duplo together and likes to steal PA's beanie and put it on himself.

Small things, small things, tiny pygmy seahorse things.

  1. Love the stance!
I also love how you manage to get down in words such an accurate description of toddler life....the immediacy of them - perfect! Seeing the world through their eyes is one if the great things about parenthood
